The media have been telling us for years that Saddam had no WMD, so "Bush's War": was based on a "lie." And those who believed Saddam did have WMD or WMD programs were delusional or worse.
But, on July 6, 2008, the Associated Press reports that Saddam Hussein had a nuclear program at the Tuwaitha nuclear complex just south of Baghdad, including 550 metric tons (over 1.2 million pounds) of "yellowcake", or concentrated uranium, and multiple devices that could be used in a nuclear weapon.
The AP does not say alleged nuclear program. It does not add "according to military experts." It simply says "Saddam Hussein's nuclear program."
That's pretty big news, isn't it?
For about five years now, those of us who thought Saddam Hussein probably had at least WMD programs, if not WMD themselves, have been called not only wrong, but illogical and insane.

Whether Saddam had mechanical weapons, nuclear weapons, chemical weapons or anything else shouldn’t matter. Saddam himself was a weapon of mass destruction. Thousands of people were murdered by his hand or by his command. The plain and simple fact was the people of Iraq asked for help in stopping him and the United States along with many other countries gave them the help they asked for.
My concern now is how the US plans on pulling our troops out. I believe Iraq has set a time table for the withdrawal of US troops which is good news. However, when the time comes, I think it should be all troops at once at once. There is safety in numbers and to drawn down the number of troops, would leave the rest of our soldier’s as sitting ducks.
No matter what degree of stability there is in Iraq, American soldiers will always be a target. If the US can’t fly them all home at once, they should at least be moved to Kuwait to await their flight home.
The United States tends to hang around for years and years after a war. I am sure Iraq will be no different. We still have military bases in Germany, South Korea, Japan and who knows how many others. When there is talk of closing them, there’s opposition from those countries because they are now dependant on the American dollars that flow from those bases. No one seems to think of the US tax payer that supports all of these unneeded bases and worse yet they don’t consider the hardship on American soldiers that have to be away from their families for more than a year at a time.
Personally, I think it is time to bring them ALL home.
